I believe that, as an artist, Leonardo da Vinci cared about the innovative aspect of art. Leonardo da Vinci was also a scientist. This means that he was interested in discovery and new ideas. His innovative side can be seen in his paintings such as The Virgin of the Rocks and the Mona Lisa. In these drawings his invention, sfumato, can be seen. His lightning techniques were not the only way in which he associated himself with a more scientific or inventive approach to art. In Two Drawings da Vinci shows his scientific side once more by creating figures and the human body as exact and evenly proportional as possible.
