I did not know of all the symbolism that was a part of Hinduism: color, objects that are held by the gods in artwork, nature, etc. The concept that there are no unifying beliefs in the religion was also new to me. Something I didn't know about Buddhism before was that people of this religion practiced the "middle way" and rejected extremes. I also did not know about the way Buddhists believe the universe is structured. I like that Hinduism is about the connection between living things while also emphasizing on individual holiness. I believe that it is important to acknowledge one's effect on others and think about how to benefit and love others while also focusing on oneself. If I were Buddhist, my life would probably not be as hectic and anxiety filled. My schedule would evolve around doing good in the world and bettering myself. I would take more time out of my day for prayer and meditation, which would probably improve my mood and anxiety. My life would be calmer and I would examine and really care about the consequences of my actions.
